The goal of the activity was to clean the campus and the forest next to our university (NCU in Toruń)
Nowadays the issue of ecology and taking care of nature is often discussed. In response to the need to protect the environment and the occasion of the upcoming Earth Day, we arranged Let's clean the world with ESN Toruń event. Our event took place on 16th of April and was organized in cooperation with Miejskie Przedsiębiorstwo Oczyszczania (MPO) in Toruń.
Despite the rainy weather, 13 students gathered in front of dormitory number 11 to clean up the campus and the forest next to our university. We split into 4-person groups to comply with all pandemic restrictions and we set to work. Due to the rain we decided to grab the rubbish for an hour, however we managed to collect 5 heavy bags of it. It must be admitted that the participants were so determined and they did their best! Thank you so much for your participation!
Our event was organized as part of the Social Inclusion Days lasting from 6th to 20th of April.
Due to the positive feedback from the participants and the need to take care of the environment, we will certainly repeat that event in the near future!
