The goal of the event is to practice and learn different languages.
This event is happening several times a year and for it to happen, we pair up with three other student and study associations in Groningen. We made a reservation in the drie gezusters, Europe's biggest pub, and asked for volunteers who are native in certain languages. Mostly the languages are: English, German, Dutch, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, Frisian, French, Russian and Arabic. The Language Café always has a theme, this time, it was Halloween. Thus, after we had promoted the event, we sent vocabulary lists with Halloween and autumn-related words to all people who signed up, so that they could prepare themselves, and we decorated the pub. When the participants arrived, we paired them up with the native speakers of the language they signed up for. For the rest of th night, they can enjoy drinks and practice their language skills.
