Goal of the Activity

The objective of the activity is to support humanitarian causes by offering affordable and diverse language classes for students and to involve Erasmus students in local communities where they voluntarily take part in common causes. With this activity, we are hoping to help students reach their language goals and advance in their lives, to kindle curiosity about other languages, countries, and cultures, and to show solidarity with people going through immensely challenging times.

Description

LangAid is a student initiative that started after the February 6 Earthquake that hit Turkey in 2022. It is a volunteer based activity that aims to help those in need through raising donations whilst also helping the students reach their language goals and for Erasmus students be more involved in the local community. LangAid offers diverse weekly language classes at Bogazici University Campuses for an affordable price. Although most of the teachers are volunteering Erasmus or Exchange students who offer classes in their native language, we also have Turkish classes that is specifically designed for all of the international students at the university. The language classes are open to everyone who wishes to start a new language or advance at a language they already have some knowledge of. At the end of the semester, all the proceedings are donated to an NGO called Mor Dayanışm
