As part of the Erasmus Generation in Action (EGiA) project, the objective of this event was to promote and encourage student participation in international mobility programs and to highlight the importance of active citizenship.
With the help of our facilitators we created interactive seminars, informative debates and roundtable discussions in mobility related topics for the students of Eötvös Loránd University.
International student exchanges have become an integral part of the global educational landscape, fostering cross-cultural understanding, collaboration and personal development. These programs provide students with unique opportunities to immerse themselves in different cultures, enhance their academic skills and contribute to a more interconnected world. As we navigate the challenges of an increasingly globalized society, the value of such programs in shaping open-minded, culturally aware individuals cannot be overstated. In embracing these opportunities, we pave the way for a future where borders are bridges, and diversity is celebrated as a strength.
The event was held at Youth Camp Velence with 102 participants, 20 facilitators and 4 guest presenters.
After the registration, the event was opened by the president of ESN ELTE, who introduced the facilitators and briefly talked about the programs of the day.
Following the opening session, we split the participants into smaller groups and played some ice breaking games so they can get to know each other.
We continued with the presentation round, where the primary objective was to provide more information about various international exchange programs and mobility opportunities, the Erasmus Student Network and the EGiA project itself.
During the roundtable discussion, we had guests who participated in mobility programs in different countries around the world. They shared their experiences and discussed the challenges and advantages of international student exchange. The main topics were:
- Cultural exchange and global understanding
- Personal development and independence
- Academic enrichment
-
Building lifelong connections
At the Mobility café, participants could learn more about mobility opportunities and discuss their fears and expectations about going abroad. We also invited international exchange students who talked about their Erasmus experience.
The goal of the active citizenship open space was to promote and encourage civic engagement, social responsibility, and active participation in community or societal issues. With the help of the facilitators, we tried to empower participants to take an active role in their communities and contribute to positive social change.
The final program of the day was the feedback session, where participants could share their insights about our event ant provide us valuable feedback that we can improve upon.
