There is a real objective of integration to allow everyone to spend an evening of sharing with games, gifts and food in a moment where they can feel alone.
During the holiday season, some IS cannot return home. They must stay in their exchange city without being able to join their family. Also, not everyone celebrates Christmas, but being in France, this period is often a low moment. Many International Students remaining behind express a feeling of loneliness during this period, as many still return home. We therefore imagined offering a festive meal on Christmas Eve to the International Students. Some volunteers also remain in Strasbourg during this period, they can take care of managing the event on site. Upstream, a lot of coordination is done between the Eurométropole of Strasbourg, the International Relations Department of the University of Strasbourg, Campus France and the CROUS of Strasbourg (as well as ourselves), who have joined the project from the start! Although this event takes place on Christmas Eve, there is no religious aspect to this evening. The event is open to everyone, even French people staying here for this period.
