Italy
participants
The goal of the activity was to provide participants with a comprehensive and immersive experience in Italian cuisine, fostering a deeper understanding of cooking traditions and the art of preparing typical Italian dishes. By bringing people together for a cooking lesson, the activity aimed to create a shared learning environment where participants could not only enhance their culinary skills but also gain insights into the cultural significance and regional variations of Italian gastronomy. Through hands-on participation, collaborative cooking, and shared enjoyment of the final creations, the activity sought to promote a sense of community and appreciation for the rich culinary heritage of Italy. Ultimately, the goal was to inspire a lasting connection to Italian cooking traditions and to encourage participants to integrate these newfound skills and knowledge into their own culinary repertoire.
Twice a semester, a team of 10 ESNers (2 responsibles and 8 helpers) creates a typical Italian menu with starters, first and second courses, dessert and beverages. During the event, the ESNers explain how to do the recipes and then the international students, grouped in different teams, reproduce it the better they can. The best team, based on criteria decided by the event's responsibles, will be prized. At the end, everyone gathers to eat the prepared menu and the winning team, announced by the responsibles, gets its prize
