The aim of the event was to raise awareness about alternative forms of therapy and see what they look like and volunteer in such therapy. Through hippotherapy, a child can experience many different types of beneficial sensory stimulation and the brain receives vestibular stimulation. Another goal was to get familiar with such wonderful animals like horses and spend the whole day with disabled children through volunteering in many activities.
The first part of the event consisted of getting to know how hippotherapy works and assisting children with disabilities in the implementation of tasks. Those tasks were: face painting, belaying on obstacle courses, creating your own carton steed, etc. Then we participated in the demonstration part of the event. We watched an archery show on horseback, driving, pony polo, and vaulting. Finally, we could visit the horses in the stable, stroke them, and observe them.
