Hiking at Kissavos

Description

The office of physical activity of the university of Thessaly in favor of athletic and cultural activities is organizing for the Erasmus students in the 05th of Jun 2021 a one-day trip(hiking) at Kissavos(Calypso Canyon)The bus will depart at 07:45 in front of the main entrance of the university of Thessaly in Larissa(Gaiopolis) for those that reside in the dorms and for those that live in the center the bus will be at 08:00 at Agios Achillios(Horse statue)

After an hour of the journey we will arrive at Karytsa village,from which we will from where we will begin the hiking towards the canyon.We will walk approximately 1hour and 30 minutes inside the lush green path at the base of the waterfall,and we will stay for an hour for a swim at the crystal clear waters of the lake.Duration of ascent:1 hour and 30 minutes

Duration of descent:1 hour and 30 minutes

After a 2-3 hour course we will arrive at Stomio beach for 2 hours,where you can go for a swim,and the we will dine at a traditional tavern.We will return at 18:00.

NESASSARY EQUIPMENT:Athletic or hiking boots,comfy,light clothing,sunglasses,hat,sunscreen,2nd pair of socks,a change of underwear,swimsuit,towel,dry food(sandwich,fruits),personal medicine if someone is going through medication.

ATTENTION:Everyone must wear masks inside the bus.

Weather:In the morning the weather will be clear at 18 degrees

At noon the weather will be a bit cloudy at 33 degrees

In the afternoon the weather will be cloudy at 22 degrees.

For the participation in Olympus, the cost of the trip per person is 10 euros. It includes a transfer to Kissavos , and a transfer to at Stomio for swimming.
