Hike in the Bavarian alps

Description

You want to make the best out of your stay in Bavaria even during exam season? 😃

On 22 July, 2023, Join us for yet another hike in the Bavarian alps 🗻 were we will conquer two peaks, Jägerkamp and Aiplspitz. And thats not enough, as this hike will be together with friends from ESN München! The beautifully located Schliersee and Spitzingsee lakes do not only have admirers and surely so 😉

Only 15 spots are available for this Hike, so kindly fill in the form to register for the hike.

Route description 🀄 (https://www.komoot.de/tour/1206359677?ref=aso&share_token=aGA8cXKLjy6bq…):

We will travel together with participants from ESN München from München Hauptbahnhof. The starting point of hike is Spitzingsattel, from were we will start a medium ascend around the mountain range we are climbing until we reach the Schönfeldhütte. From there we continue with a shorter, but steeper ascend until we reach a crossroads where we will first turn left to get to Jägerkamp. Then we double back and continue above 1600m to Tanzeck and finally Aiplspitz. The western ridge to Aiplspitz is slightly exposed, but if neccessary it is easy to circumnavigate and meet the path again after Aiplspitze. The descend towards Geitau will be long and mostly smooth, so do not worry about your knees. In Geitau you can catch trains back to Munich.

Travel Times 🚃
06:30 am Deggendorf Hauptbahnhof
10:30 am Spitzingsattle (Point where hike start.

Return times will depend on how the hike goes but we will try to be back before 23:00.

Some details about the hike:
distance: 15 km
elevation gain: 600 m •
elevation loss: 950 m •
Walking time: around 5:30h (without breaks)

📝This hike is not too difficult, but you should never underestimate the mountains! Basic mountain hiking experience will be enough. The hike includes a small exposed section where you require surefootedness and head for heights. Everyone is responsible for themselves and the tutors are no professional mountain guides!

Also bring sufficient drinking water ( at least 2 liters 🍼), food for a joint picnic, sunscreen, a hat and rain wear. In case of bad weather the event might be cancelled upon short notice (we would inform you via email).

The price does not cover the train ticket. Since May 2023 you can buy Deutschlandticket for 49 Euros/month and use public and regional transportation in whole Germany.

If you don't have a Deutschlandticket, you can buy a Regio-Ticket Werdenfels or Bayern Ticket at the station and possibly share it with other people.

See you at Hike
