Objective / Goal of the activity

The goal of the activity was to raise awareness of Erasmus students about difficulties and challenges one may have in daily life or when going on mobility. We played four games - each game had a different goal.

Games:

1. Alias - explaining certain words without using the root of the given word. Words that Erasmus students needed to explain were connected with physical disabilities, mental health, discrimination, stereotypes etc.

2. Charades - the goal was to represent persons with no ability to speak and which difficulties can be faced in daily life

3. Whisper challenge - the goal was to represent persons with hearing impairment and which difficulties can be faced in daily life.

The sentences used in this game were connected with positive atmosphere and thoughts such as "Do you need help?", "I love your smile", "Let's be friends" etc

4. Blindfolded drawing - the goal was to represent persons with visual impairment and which difficulties can be faced in daily life

Description

Living with any kind of disability can be really challenging throughout everyday life.
To raise awareness of the difficulties that some of us encounter we have organized an event where you will be split into teams.
Each team will start with a different game, such as whisper challenge, mime, activities that include blindfolds and others. This way, while having fun you will be able to experience a little bit of what many people face every day.

Result of the activity

In a fun way, Erasmus students learned about some of the physical disabilities and mental health. At the end of the activity, we had a short reflection time and it was very positive and students said that they are now more aware about difficulties that people may face in everyday life.
