Goal of the Activity

The objective is to know the basic first aid techniques.

Description

The first aid talk was given by a volunteer who is a nurse. She explained to us how to act when a person suffers an accident.   When a person suffers an accident we must check if they are breathing or not. She explained to us that if a person is breathing, but is unconscious, we must place them in the lateral safety position so that they do not inhale bronchoaspiration. Another thing she told us is that if the person is unconscious we should do RCP. She explained to us how to do RCP. He also gave us an example of a person who chokes to explain the Heimlich maneuver. First, the person must be encouraged to cough and if the food is not expelled, the Heimlich maneuver is applied.

The volunteers and Erasmus students were able to learn basic first aid techniques in a dynamic way.
