The goal of the First Aid with Croce Rossa Italiana event is to provide participants with the knowledge and skills to administer CPR and first aid effectively in both pediatric and adult emergencies. By collaborating with the volunteers of Croce Rossa Italiana, the event aims to empower individuals to become more conscious and capable of helping others in emergency situations. Additionally, participants will receive certification upon completion of the two-day training, enhancing their credentials and preparedness to respond to emergencies.
The workshop was held from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, a timing that unfortunately limited participation. Language barriers were an issue since CRI lacked English-speaking experts. Volunteers from ESN Italia translated the sessions, which slightly delayed proceedings but ensured clear communication.
Day 1:
- CPR procedures for adults and children.
Day 2:
- CPR procedures for infants.
- Choking relief procedures for adults, children, and infants.
- Response techniques for trauma and intoxication.
- Practical exercises with mannequins.
- Paired simulations to practice emergency scenarios.
- Volunteers appreciated the collaboration despite a minor issue regarding certification. The certificate for defibrillator use was not provided free of charge, which led to some dissatisfaction. CRI expressed some reservations about the collaboration with ESN Italia, suggesting that a formal contract might be beneficial for future events.
