Students were invited to watch 'Sunshine on Leith' - a classic feel-good, movie set in Scotland. The aim was to show a stereotype of Scottish culture, and to learn some new Scottish words, while meeting new people.

Getting tired of all the Glasgow rain? Bring some friends and some popcorn and come along for a free screening of classic Scottish movie ‘Sunshine on Leith’!

'Sunshine on Leith’ is a story about Davy and Ally, who have to adjust to life in Edinburgh after coming home from the army. It is a funny, feel-good movie with music from legendary Scottish band The Proclaimers.

Result of the activity

The students really enjoyed the film and left feeling positive. They were able to have a discussion about the language used in the film and the cultural stereotypes.
