Goal of the Activity

The goal of the "Fake News vs Politics" event is to raise awareness about the impact of misinformation on political decisions and public opinion, while teaching participants how to identify and critically evaluate fake news, particularly in the context of elections and political processes.

Description

The event was focused on exploring the relationship between news media and politics, particularly how news can be manipulated to influence political opinions and decisions. It aimed to raise awareness about the spread of fake news and its impact on elections and public trust.

It showed how news can be used to sway voters, especially with the upcoming European Parliament elections in mind. The event also provided a chance to reflect on how to stay informed, recognise misinformation, and critically evaluate the news we consume. It was an opportunity to refresh understanding of how media shapes political views and the importance of accurate information in a democracy.
