Goal of the Activity

A project that grants an outgoing student with a scholarship

Description

The Erasmus Student Network Lisbon is a team of volunteer students, which is part of the European NGO Erasmus Student Network. We are a mix of Portuguese and international students who share an interest in intercultural exchanges, traveling and showing our city. We organize all sorts of events, from Welcome Days to welcome new students to our universities, to trips around the country. We study at many universities in the city, so you can find us easily. We usually wear our green jerseys and go by the nickname 'Sardines'. ESN Lisboa is the biggest section of ESN in Portugal, in terms of organizing activities and the amount of Erasmus we help. We are also the only non-profit organization in Lisbon wholly staffed by volunteers, from top to bottom.

Being students ourselves, and since many of us have not taken part in mobility due to financial reasons, we believe that this should not be another barrier to not realizing a dream. With the financial crisis we are going through, the pandemic, and the lack of an increase in scholarship values, we feel the need to help other university colleagues who dream and aspire for their period of mobility. With this, the ESN Lisboa SCHOLARSHIP was born, with the aim of helping more people to go on this great and wonderful adventure that is the Erasmus + program.

The scholarship awarded by ESN Lisboa is a semiannual fixed amount of €500. The scholarship awarded extends only for the corresponding period of 5 months.
