The main aim of the initiative was to provide support and joy to victims of domestic violence by delivering useful and thoughtful Christmas presents.
Some of our goals are collecting the number of personalised Christmas presents specified by Dom Duga Zagreb, providing shelter residents with gifts that meet their expressed needs, engaging volunteers in a meaningful cause during the festive season, raising awareness about domestic violence, particularly during a period focused on consumerism and overshadowing the needs of vulnerable individuals in society.
The Erasmus Santa Network is a heartfelt social inclusion initiative by ESN Zagreb, aimed at bringing Christmas cheer to residents of a shelter for victims of domestic violence. Volunteers prepare personalized gifts based on the residents' needs, focusing on meaningful presents rather than monetary donations. The holiday season often highlights feelings of togetherness and joy, but for many victims of domestic violence, it can instead remind them of their struggles. Through thoughtful gifts and gestures of kindness, the initiative seeks to provide hope, warmth, and a sense of belonging to those who feel excluded from festive celebrations.
