The goal of this activity was to raise awareness to visual impairment and to the obstacles visually-impaired people might encounter in their daily lives.
This activity gave international students the opportunity to experience meeting each other while blindfolded. Participants brought their own blindfold (to follow along the safety guidelines imposed because of the COVID-19 pandemic), they blindfolded themselves at the entrance of the facility, and they were guided by ESN Coimbra's volunteers, who grouped them in pairs. Participants were excited to talk to each other blindfolded, but they soon learned that it would be challenging. After talking for a while, ESN volunteers would help them exchange, so that they could meet someone new. At the end of the dinner, the participants removed their blindfolds and were thanked for their enthusiastic participation and dedication to this activity.
