Cleaning the trash in the local countryside of our city and specially in a very touristic hiking spot, the "Naranco" mountain.
This has been a cleaning up activity done after a healthy hiking trip to a mountain in which the participants could also learn about the romanesque architechture of the region and enjoy the views during a sunny day.
The results can be analysed in three outcomes:
1. Awareness risen about littering, recycling and trash, with the participants learning about the consequences of littering, microplastics and how the recycling system works in our country and city, while also seeing impressive amounts of trash in the local region.
2. Motivation for taking up sports and hiking as a hobby, thanks to an amazing and fun activity that showed the benefits of hiking to people who had never done it before, and introduced them to these kinds of sports.
3. Direct action in reducing local pollution and littering, by removing it from the environment directly, one of the most impressive objects that had been recovered includes an entire car battery with a huge toxicity and environmentally damaging consequences if it had been left there unchecked.
