Goal of the Activity

The purpose of the event is to get the Erasmus students insight into how is the life of the blind person. We had dinner in the complete darkness with the blind instructor for whom this is his normal life, but for the Erasmus students, it is a completely new experience not to see anything.

  • the participant feel more free to help other people
  • the experience has given participants a new perspective in life
  • see the disabled people differently, see the problems of handicapped people
  • learned the basic instructions for moving in the dark and how to help others
Description

We prepared dinner, during which the participants had to cover their eyes by masks,, so they couldn’t see anything and therefore they could experience, what it is like to be blind. We covered their eyes before the activity itself, so their first task was to find the table with the help of our blind instructor. After finishing all the food, they tried to walk around the room. At the end, everyone took off the masks, saw the room,  and discussed the experience and expectation about the room .
