The main aim was to try and understand how disabled people live their daily lives and the difficulties they face in simple activities such as eating.
International students were able to experience the challenges of a visually impaired person eating properly and know how to help in this and other situations if needed.
To raise awareness of disability and how to include more disabled people in regular activities.
The international students had the opportunity to experience eating food as a visually impaired person and rely on their other senses. We used scarfs as blindfolds and guided them through the entire process. The whole event was in a spirit of how they feel after that experience and how they can help or include people with disabilities. We also invited a visually impaired person, an instructor from another non profit organisation, SONS Ostrava.
