Goal of the Activity

Many outgoing students know the feeling: before the start of their Erasmus stay, many students are excited and have countless questions - from finding accommodation and health insurance to social contacts and ECTS. And who better to answer these questions than the Homecomings?

That was precisely the aim of our event: students who have just returned from their Erasmus were able to pass on their knowledge and experience to those about to embark on their stay. They shared valuable tips, took away some of the nervousness of future outgoers and helped them to prepare for their adventure in the best possible way.

Description

At the beginning, we briefly introduced the ESN and our Buddy Programme, followed by an ‘Icebreaker Bingo’ to get into conversation. We then formed small groups led by ESN members and homecomings based on their experiences abroad. There were groups for different countries, lead by ESNers and Homecomings including Spain, Portugal, Italy/Belgium, the UK, Scandinavia and France/other destinations.

This gave future outgoers the opportunity to voice their concerns, receive valuable advice and make initial contacts for their semester abroad. At the same time, the event gave the homecomings the opportunity to reflect on their own experiences and get to know the local ESN.

A perfect start - and at the same time a nice conclusion - for the Erasmus mobility!
