Promoting sustainable lifestyle, making second-hand clothing attractive to students, combine sustainability aspect with social activity to meet other students, offer a relaxed atmosphere to meet other students (different than busy barnights/parties)
The event is a clothing swap. The general idea is that people bring clothes they don't wear anymore, and in exchange can take clothes that others brought. The event is held in "Tankstation", a venue that is important for the cultural scene in Enschede and promotes individual expression and sustainability. People who brought at least one piece of clothing got a free drink, an acoustic duo played live music and a variety of vegan snacks was offered. Additionally, a special deal was announced where ESN card holders get 20% discount on a selected thrift shop in Enschede on a certain day. As guests, the UNICEF student team Enschede was present to hold a short presentation about fast fashion and sustainability. The event was thus a combination of both promoting sustainability and a social gathering in a relaxed atmosphere. In the end, remaining clothes were donated.
