Explain the relationship between climate change and the world of agri-food, how these affect each other, what are the impacts for food production and the importance of forests as guarantors of stability of ecosystems.
The Climate change and food security: future scenarios event is an initiative of ESN Sassari and the AUREURADIO Association which aims to tell the relationship between climate change and the world of agri-food, how these affect each other, what are the impacts for food production and the importance of forests as guarantors of stability of ecosystems.
The evening was divided into three sections: a first part it was the warm-up in order to understand how much the people present known the topics
of presentations and second part lectures and a third part of workshops, with reworking of the topics covered.
Specifically, in the second section there has been composed by three interventions, the first focused on the consumption of water and soil in agriculture and how agricultural productivity reacts to a reduction in water availability.
The second intervention focused on the issue of animal production, its impacts in terms of CO2 emissions and possible solutions to marginalize the problem.
Finally, the third dealt with the theme of agro-forestry systems, that is the relationship between the agricultural world and the forest and the role of forests as CO2 absorbers and elements in contrasting hydro-geological instability.
In the second part of the evening, the event gave space to a more interactive moment, in which the participants divided into groups and were able to discuss some of the topics covered in the first part, giving voice to their opinions.
