The goal of the "Clean the City with ESN ULiège" activity was to tangibly improve the environmental quality of the city through a hands-on litter collection initiative. This goal was underpinned by the broader objectives of fostering a sense of environmental responsibility among participants, enhancing community cohesion, and raising public awareness about the importance of maintaining clean and sustainable urban spaces. By engaging volunteers in direct action, the activity aimed to create a visible impact on the local environment, while also inspiring ongoing commitment to environmental stewardship within the community.
This initiative was a community-driven environmental cleanup event organized by ESN ULiège. For two hours, volunteers, including international students and local residents, gathered to collect litter from various city areas. Equipped with gloves, litter pickers, and garbage bags provided by BeWapp, participants diligently worked to remove trash from public spaces, contributing to the city's cleanliness and environmental health. The activity was not only a practical effort to beautify the city but also served as an educational and awareness-raising campaign about environmental conservation, utilizing social media and local radio for outreach.
