The purpose of the activity was to raise awareness on the issue of marine pollution, waste at sea and the impact that our wrong behaviors have on the environment.
The cleaning of the canals was carried out using ancient Venetian boats of the Settemari Association.
All the participants were divided into small groups. We got on a "caorlina" and left for the collection of waste. Through the nets we collected what we found on the surface in the channels.
Given the beautiful day, they took us out of the Sestiere also passing through the Grand Canal. The tour lasted 3 hours.
Outcomes
The positive aspect was certainly the collaboration with many local associations, known during this event. The international students were very happy to be active citizens in the host city and to have carried out this event aboard a typical Venetian boat.
