The initiative, in collaboration with "2hands Macerata", aimed to focus on the importance of reducing waste, promoting recycling and protecting nature by cleaning up the open spaces close to a shopping centre.
There were also some Italian students, so it was great to see how people from different coutries were committed to the same Sustainable Development Goals of Agenda 2030, in order to protect nature by raising awareness.
The activity took place on the 9th of March 2024. In the afternoon, at around 14:30, after a quick snack at "La rotonda" in Macerata, the coordinator with the two international students went by car to Piediripa. There, they met other volunteers of "2hands Macerata" and started cleaning up the open space area near the Shopping centre Val di Chienti. They collected 135 kg of abandoned waste and they also bumped into some animals, like cows, and the wildlife. At around 6 p.m. they went back to Macerata, always by car.
