Goal of the Activity
- inform the international students about the need to register if you stay longer than three months in Germany
- help them in the process
- when they arrive here and then find out that they need to book a spot, it is sometimes almost impossible to get a spot, so we booked spots in advance for them
Description
If you plan on staying longer than three months in Germany you need to register at your local municipality of residence. To do this you have to visit your local registration office: in Darmstadt this is the 'Einwohnermeldeamt' (Luisenplatz 5, 64283 Darmstadt).
On Tuesday, 19.03, we are organising group appointments at Darmstadt's Residents' Registration Office to assist students. If you want to come you have to sign up as we only have limited spots.
Please bring the following documents with you to the registration:
- Valid passport or an EU identity card
- Rental Agreement, also known as 'Wohnungsgeberbestätigung' (a housing contract will NOT be accepted)
Without this documents you can’t register.
