The visit to Cascina Biblioteca was organized to show to Erasmus students the activities of sustainible farming and breeding that take place in a farmhouse in Milan. Intrnational students and ESN volunteers had the chance not only to visit the estate and spend a day in the nature not far from the city center, but also to learn about the activities performed at the Cascina Biblioteca, which include sustainible farming, breeding, beekeeping and social inclusion of people with disabilities.
The students spend an entire afternoon visiting the estates of the farmhouse, walking through the fields, meeting animals and seeing crops produced at Cascina Biblioteca. During the visit they had the chance to learn about the sustainible farming and breeding tecniques employed at the farmhouse, where projects for the inclusion of people with mental disabilities are also performed. The Erasmus students ended they afternoon with an aperitif made with ingredients produced at the farmhouse, and had also the chance to buy fruits and vegetables produced at Cascina Biblioteca in their shop.
