The Buddy Social is part of the Buddy Programme, which matches local students with new incoming students. Buddy socials are meant for the Buddies to ensure they stay in touch with each other and give them the opportunity to bond with each other. At the same time, the quiz included questions about the Netherlands and Groningen, which facilitated the integration process of the new students. The events are organised by our "Buddy and Integration Committee", thus, by our volunteers. For the committee, it is also a great possibility to improve their skills, such as event management and teamwork.
The event took place in a nice bar, where we had the entire room for ourselves. The people divided themselves into teams and then the committee started the quiz with a nice PowerPoint presentation. There was also a break to give them the chance to socialise. Two drinks were included, also non-alcoholic ones, and the best three teams received a prize. Afterwards, there was time to stay in the bar and socialize.
