Teamwork - During the weekend participants are divided into teams, in which they are cooperating the whole duration of the event. This strengthens their teamwork skills. They have to work with people assigned to them, not the once they have chosen, which can be sometimes challenging.
Self-development - each member gets the opportunity to express themselves during the variety of activities. Each of us has a different features that are shown and encouraged within the team members who need each others skills in order to be the best.
Communication - Participants have to learn how to talk to one another and get along with each other despite their differences.
Building a community - Members get in touch with each other in a completely different surroundings as they are used to. They see each other in a different way, what leads to strengthening the relationships and helps with the collaboration in the future.
Learning about ESN and ESN causes - members get the chance to meet with board members or more experienced members, who can provide them with knowledge of ESN, its structure and causes, which are present during the whole weekend in the programme.
Main focus is on the ESNers from Masaryk University, Brno University of Technology and MENDELU University. The idea is to give the ESNers an opportunity to get to know students from other universities, as it might be hard in a city like Brno. This way they have a better chance to create connections from another universities, sections and countries, as Brno is very international.
It is an event where newbies, active members and Board meet all together, and learn how to cooperate with each other, respect each other and they pass knowledge onto each other. They as well gain information about how ESN works, its Causes and opportunities.
We go to a cabin close to Brno, so anyone can reach it even without a car. There we spend the whole weekend bonding, doing fun activities and having an interesting programme prepared by the OC consisting of the HR managers from all three universities.
Friday includes Icebreakers and get-to-know-each-other games. Saturday starts with a creative team game and then it is devoted to addressing the Causes of ESN, such as social inclusion, education or health and well-being. This is later in the afternoon followed by the main weekend game for participants, which consists of mostly logical set of games. Sunday is meant for feedback and discussion, followed by cleaning time.
