Book Club: A hora da estrela (1977)

This is the third meeting we made. This time, the book chosen was recommended by an international student and it was "A hora da estrela" by the Brazilian writer Clarice Lispector being one of their latest novels

The book tells the story of a young girl called Macabea who moved to Rio de Janeiro where she has a simple life. She has its own dreams and interest. However, she cannot understand its own misery, so she is happy.

It was an enjoyable chat with some of the books topics where international students were delighted.
