The goal of the activity was to bring out to light the reality of a visually impaired person. To raise awareness among international and local students about the reality of life for some people by creating a normal scenario with a twist.
We met in the main city square, and once we all were there, we started to blindfold everyone. Two of the volunteers guided the others in a line, holding hands. The participants didn't trust the guides completely because walking in the street without seeing anything made them scared and insecure, but they had to learn to trust. Once we arrived, they had to go through the first challenge: ordering. It wasn't easy to eat and drink while blindfolded, but everyone made it and most importantly they understood the reality of a visually impaired person.
At the end of the dinner, we let them take off their bandages and re-enter the world with a new understanding of its complexity.
