Goal of the Activity

The goal of the activity was to create a moment of reflection among international students on how it feels to be a foreign builder in Siena and how to integrate with the local community

Description

In the Santa Chiara Lab some of the international students of a Master’s course presented topics that cover the problems experienced by their peers. Each presentation was run by a single student, and the presentations were divided into three mega topics. At the end of each topic, there were lively group discussions. After a generous initial buffet, the professor introduced the program, and then gave word to the students, who presented, in order:
- What are the reasons why students choose/do not choose Siena as their Erasmus destination?
- Adapting to the Italian university system
- Satisfaction with the student support service in Siena
- Financial situation and how much financial support you receive from your mother university
Group discussion
- Discrimination between rents in Siena
- How important is it to know Italian in Siena?
- Do dogs have a positive influence on the mental health of students?
- The impact of Sienese architecture on the University
Group discussion
- Sustainable mobility to and from Siena
- Health and eating habits
- The dietary habits of international students
- Bar as third place in Siena
