Goal of the Activity

The goal of activity was to brighten students' days and reality. As simple as it sounds, in spring time, with waking word, we mostly forget about focus on ourselves. The perspective of approaching exams and ending of semester might be overwhelming for some of us. The main idea was to remind students that they are unique and perfect in every way.

Description

The activity started with social media campaign which started on 15th of May and ended on 2nd of June. Two times per week stories were published. There were two categories - on Mondays we put a dedications' section, where people could publicly but anonimously dedicate a song to their friend or compliment a special person. Then, on Fridays the questions' part appeared with the same rules as it was with dedications. Mostly they were connected to mental health and well being like "What nice happened to you this week?".

We also put posters up on the buildings of our University. Many of them held inspiring quotes of well-known people like "Try to be a rainbow in someone else's cloud" or "Believe you can and you're halfway there". We hoped to create a nice space, where everyone could feel special and seen, cause even in the worst moments, there is something beautiful and we tried to give that gleam of hope and happiness.

The last, and most important, part was stand which was organised on 17th of May. Whole Social Inclusion Group organised a colourful booth with activites. During breaks between classes we encouraged students to come closer and spread niceness. How? They could participate in "Be Nice Challange"! On the wheel of fortune they drew lots from 9 earlier prepared "tasks to do". Some people needed to "Hug as many people as possible"; others "Compliment somebody's outfit" and even more! Every participand had two days to complete those and send the "evidence" to given e-mail address. The evidence could have any form - video, post, message, photo or even a voice message. With those, the organizator chose the winner of each category (the winner was the person with the biggest amount of evidence in each category). At the end, every person who won was given a special prize funded by Students' Parliament of Krakow Univeristy of Economics.

Moreover, students' approaching The Be Nice Stand were treated with sweets and nice, brighting quotes attached to them.
