The Austrian-German is hardly understood by anybody, not even among Austrians themselves. The reason for that is that across all the regions in Austria, locals are used to their own spoken language - referring to the Austrian dialect, or "Mundart".
HOWEVER, THERE IS A WAY TO BETTER UNDERSTAND THE AUSTRIAN DIALECT!
Knowing the (secret) RULES - typical characteristics of the dialect - will
(1) help you to decrypt the spoken language, and
(2) allow you to apply to your own German language in order to sound more Austrian!
JOIN this online workshop held by our 100% Austrian dialect-speaking teacher and ESN friend and learn how to talk like a real Innsbrucker, but most important have a good chat online with some local students.
