The main goal of the activity was to demonstrate that listening is more difficult than it seems. In addition, we wanted to focus on the difference between listening and active listening.
We believe that listening is an important skill in all kinds of relationships: in the workplace, at university, in family and with friends.
The activity consisted of a seminar held by two Doctors (Psychologists and Trainers), who organized first a theoretical part and then a practical one.
In the theoretical part they focused on the difference between "listening" and "active listening" and explained what the technique of active listening consists of.
The practical part consisted of three exercises to do in pairs. During the first one we had to listen to our partner without answering. In the second one we could answer spontaneously; in the third one we had to make an effort to respond to our partner using the technique of active listening.
