The main goal of the activity was to experience the ability to play a character, to stimulate empathy in volunteers playing the characters and to improve skills needed in theatre (for instance preparing scripts, graphic elements, etc.) Moreover, it was a perfect team building exercise.
In the previous days we invented a story and studied all the links between the different characters. We established who was the killer and why he/she killed the victim. In addition, we also worked on graphic elements, such as the victim’s secret diary, a newspaper and the identikit of the suspects. We also thought of transcribing and translating the dialogues into English and Spanish, so that Erasmus didn’t miss any detail.
The night of the event we pretended to start the dinner normally. After a few minutes, the girl who played the victim pretended to be poisoned and threw herself on the ground. We divided the show into four acts and staged the interrogations, from which the Erasmus had to draw clues. At the end we gave them the possibility to frisk two suspects.
The group that guessed the killer won a prize.
