The main objective of the initiative is to provide a platform for students from the region to look for a job by connecting them with the companies on the fair, and enhancing their skills on the job market by organising free workshops. Another one is to give the companies space to showcase themselves and look for future employees by ensuring the fair is visited by thousands of prospective employees.
Academic Job Fair (in Polish Akademickie Targi Pracy) is an annual event organised annually in Łódź, Poland. It is the largest event of its kind in the country, with attendance of 130 companies and organisations and over 17 000 visitors. It has been organised since 2006, which means that this year’s edition marks its 20th anniversary.
It is a great opportunity for future employees to get to know requirements of companies from the national and international market, as well as for companies to find employees among students and graduates from the region of Lodz.
Students and graduates have the opportunity to participate in free workshops, which are conducted by professional coaches. Those workshops enhance qualifications and fill and systematize previously gained knowledge. Workshops cover topics such as moving around the job market, developing soft skills and deepening knowledge from specialist issues for example programming languages or production management. Additionally, each year well-known celebrities are invited to share their success stories and give lectures about motivation.
Moreover, during the Academic Job Fair, there is an advisory zone open for all students and graduates. It is a place where visitors can have their CV and motivation letter checked by experts from business. Those people help develop CVs and motivation letters and point out important details.
The event is prepared in cooperation by ESN-EYE Łódź, Career Center of the Lodz University of Technology, Career Center of the Medical University of Lodz and a student organisation from there. We as ESN-EYE are responsible for contact with companies, social media, getting media partners, promotion and we take care of organising places for workshops.
