Goal of the Activity

The goal of the activity was to showcase the potential of AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) as a communication tool, raising awareness and promoting social participation for individuals with communication disabilities on the occasion of Autism Awareness Day (April 2nd)

Description

The workshop was thought to be an event for both Erasmus students and ESN volunteers, unfortunately only ESN volunteers and local students showed up.

The first part of the workshop consisted in a brief explanation of what is AAC, its objectives and applications in everyday life. The second part of the workshop saw local volunteers and students putting themselves to the test in creating stories, routines, and "translating" song lyrics using AAC while enjoying an aperitivo. At the end of the workshop, participants had the opportunity to showcase their creations and discuss how inclusivity and communication can be represented through AAC.

The workshop was well-received by partecipants.
