Objective / Goal of the activity

Live out the childhood fantasy and play the game of Quidditch we all know and love. The Muggle version of course 😊

Description

The idea for the event was put forward during ESN Estonia's 44th National Platform in August. When the time came, ESNers got together and came up with out of the box ideas to play this game. We used Dodgeballs as Bludgers, a slightly deflated volleyball as a Quaffle and a tennis ball inside a long sock tied at the waist of a runner as the Golden Snitch. Taped hula hoops to long wooden sticks and dug them into the ground to make the goal post and used broom stick handles allowing people to FLY (run) with sticks between theirs legs 😂

Teams were divided, 7 players per side and multiple games were played trying to teach everyone how to play the game while also ensuring that most of the Muggle Quidditch rules were followed.

Result of the activity

For about 2 hours multiple games were played. The players were shuffled around frequently. Towards the end everyone got super tired and unable to run even more. Everyone really enjoyed this funny sport and felt the heat of the moment. Laughing at the top of their lungs every time someone fell down or got hit by the bludger. This is one event that is sure to be a recurring event in Tallinn. With time the sections will surely develop this sport even more than it was the very first time!
