Objective / Goal of the activity
This picnic aimed at providing an opportunity for SPEAK volunteers and students to meet each other in an informal setting and to share with each other their own traditional cuisine and culture.
Description
Participants were asked to bring food to share with each other during this picnic in one of the city's green spaces: Parque Verde. After they ate, people could exchange books in their native languages with other participants who were learning their languages.
Result of the activity
This ice-breaking activity helped everyone feel more comfortable with each other, which helped make SPEAK language classes more relaxed and productive for everyone.
