The goal of the activity was to show Erasmus students culture, history and customs of our country - The Slovak Republic and presented them work of ESN, events which we are planning for them and work of universities.
During our Welcome Week, we organised Slovak Night. We showed Erasmus students the Slovak Republic from different perspectives. They could get to know our country, mainly culture, through folk dance, traditional clothes, and folk songs. They also gained new knowledge about our history and learnt basic phrases of our mater tongue – Slovak language. We prepared for them traditional Slovak foods. The event was started by choir – Felicidas. Their members were clothed in traditional folk clothes and sang traditional Slovak songs. Then Erasmus Coordinator from Trnava’s University was talking about university and also President of ESN Trnava presented to Erasmus students works of ESN and plans for this semester, what are kind of events we are planning to organise for them. Vicepresident of ESN Trnava had a presentation about Slovakia. We had prepared for them competition Kahoot! about knowledge of Slovakia. After all presentations, Erasmus students tried Slovak cuisine and could get to know each other better.
Erasmus students got to know better Slovakia, the country where they decided to spend one semester of their life. They gained needed knowledge about our history, culture and customs. They learnt about intercultural differences and about our society.
