Helping volunteers improve their skills inside (and also outside) the ESN environment, including organisation of trips and establishment of partnerships.
We held our local school in Cervia, at the seaside, in order to offer a different environment and improve teambuilding.
After introducing the volunteers to what ESN in Bologna is and what the causes of ESN in general are, we held two workshops:
The first one was called “How to plan the perfect event!”. During the workshop held by the former President and the trips coordinator, the volunteers learned how to organise a trip from scratch, including transportation, accommodation, city tours, participation fee, financial report, etc.
The second one was called “Partnership: Present, Future & Beyond” and was held by our Vice-President, who is responsible for ESN Bologna’s partnerships. The volunteers were divided into two groups and had to convince the judge (the “partner”) to establish a partnership with them. One group was supposed to establish a partnership with a bar and the other one with a club. We discussed how to approach partners, how to deal with their questions, how to describe the ESNcard and what to say/not to say to them.
After dealing with the theme of motivation, we had a brief feedback round.
