Objective / Goal of the activity

The Munich Residence served as the seat of government and residence for the Bavarian dukes and kings from 1508 to 1918. It is the largest city palace in Germany illustrating distinctive room decorations and rare displays from the former royal collections. Due to these reasons, the Munich Residenz is an important cultural and historical landmark for the region. With a visit to this famous palace, the exchange students get to know more about the Bavarian Royalty, governance and a bit about the aftermath of the WWII.

Description

We organised a guided tour inside the palace. Since it's a historical landmark, the tours must be organised by the guides provided by the Bavarian Administration of Palaces, Gardens and Lakes. It was also one of the first events in semester, therefore the students got enough time to bond with each other while walking around the palace.

Result of the activity

It was very positive. Therefore we did it 3 more times in a span of 2 weeks.
