The goal of this activity was to give students participating in the OWL (Orientation week Leiden) the chance to socialise with new students in an evening event.
Due to corona measures, most social activities in the introduction week were cancelled. In order to give students nevertheless an opportunity to socialise and have an activity together, we arranged a cooperation with the three main cinemas in Leiden. Students participating in the introduction week received a discount for all movies shown from Monday to Wednesday. Moreover, the cinemas movie program was adapted by offering a majority of movies in English. This event was used in order to compensate for last minute cancellations of a variety of social evening activities.
A lot of students watched a movie together with their Introduction week group. Moreover, we plan on having more events in cooperation with the cinemas in the future.
