The activity is supposed to introduce Exchange students into active volunteering. This way they are able to discover and support the local community and its difficulties. Students can also get to know local volunteers and understand their mission. By helping, the make the mensa work and give the food to up to 100 persons a week.
The activity involves around 10 Erasmus students, 5 ESN volunteers and 5 from the the church. This rate is needed to make the mensa work and to help the Erasmus students with language problems. All the volunteers together gather in the morning and prepare the space (moving chiars, cleaning, etc.). After lunch break, some volunteers prepare the portions and others serve the tables in pairs. The last step is recollect and clean the space.
