The main goal of this activity is to share knowledge about Romanian old traditions through international students. The workshop was divided into two parts: an introduction about this ancient activity and the dynamic part where the participants made "mărțișoare" by themselves.
Mărțișor is an old tradition celebrated all over Romania every year, on March 1st. The name Mărțișor is a diminutive of March (Martie in Romanian). It is believed that the person who wears the red and white string would enjoy a prosperous and healthy year. During this workshop, the participants learned about this ancient activity and how to make one on your own. The activity was made together with the House of Education and Innovation (HEI) NGO.
The participants were interested in this event because they learned about a new tradition and they made a "mărțișor" as a souvenir. We think this activity was a good way to receive a remarkable cultural experience.
