The main objective of our "Malen für Kinder"-event was to bring parts of the cultural heritage from the origin countries of our internationals to the kindergarden "nazarethstern". Another point was to bring together the internationals themselves to talk about their cultural backgrounds while painting symbols for them on a big compound painting.
We made a large painting consisting of many different little sketches and drawings together with our internationals. They were told to paint something related to their country or area of origin and thus also had a lot of conversations about it. Then we brought the compound painting into the kindergarden "Nazarethstern", where the children from now on can try to identify different symbols of other cultures on it.
The students had conversations about their cultural backgrounds throughout the whole bar night, the children in the Kindergarden were presented the painting with the diverse international influences portrayed.
