We aimed to give the exchange students a first glimpse of the Bavarian Alps and a gorge. This hike is the perfect entry in the world of hiking in Bavaria due to it's rather easy terrain and easy accessibility with the train from Munich.
We reached the Garmisch-Partenkirchen station by the Regional train from Munich (Bayern Tickets). Thereafter, we walked towards the entrance of the Gorge and enjoyed the beautiful walk through it. Thereafter we climbed up to a hut for lunch. The lunch at the hut Berggasthof Eckbauer was paid by the participants themselves. After the lunch we started our decent back to the train station and headed back to Munich.
Most participants really enjoyed the trip. For some it was their first hike in their lives and therefore a bit of a challenge. Few people did not have the right shoes even though they were informed before the trip. However, there were no injuries etc. so it was alright.
