We want to give the students a chance to understand what it is like to socialize when being blind.
Have you ever been curious what it's like to not be able to see at all?
What it feels like to go about life blind? Or are you interested in knowing what it’s like to live with visual impairments? We want to give the students a chance to understand what it is like to socialize when being blind.
As part of ESN's Social Inclusion Days, ESN BTH is giving you the opportunity to have this unique experience.
You will be blindfolded during the event and will be seated on a table to mingle with the rest of the group while you enjoy the fika with snacks. You won't be able to see what you're eating, where your drinks are or who you are talking to which makes it fun and exciting. After the experience, we will end the event with a discussion session where we will share how we felt throughout the event!.
The event was a success. Everyone enjoyed a lot and we had hilarious moments when they try to pour coffee into their mugs while being blindfolded. We used the technique to bring your own cup to reduce waste. The organizers then tried guiding the people one by one to have more orderly manner. They sat randomly around tables and started talking to each other. Some walked around and mingled with others at another tables. Everyone at the end shared their opinion about what it felt like being blind.
